Time for another snapper survey. We met this old girl sunning herself on the bank of Ahquannissowamsoo not far below Rt. 18 in East Bridgewater. She is a massive snapper, one of the biggest we have encountered and surely one of the streams most knowledgeable and wisest historians. Once again, when asked about our stewardship of her home, this old girl marched off mumbling something about kissing it.
One brief note on the anaerobic worms. We also found them in the main stem of the river well below Rt. 18 in East Bridgewater. And again, we have yet to see any sign of freshwater mussels in these river (not a good thing) More to come soon
